Seminar Schedule
Kids’ Karate Summer Day Camp - July 21 to 25, 2008

WHAT: Day Camp for our Karate Kids. We will train together, play and learn about
Okinawan and Japanese history as we create a small Okinawan Museum. Snacks, craft time
and training including traditional Okinawan weaponry & karate will all be a part of the camp.

WHEN: Mon. July 21 through Fri. July 25.

Where: Kenshin Kan Dojo in Gilbert, Arizona.

AVAILABLE SESSIONS: All Day: $225 per child 8:30am-5pm (bring a sack lunch). Half
Day: $130 per child, Mornings 8:30am- 12:30pm or Afternoons 1pm-5pm. Register by Thurs.
7/10 and take $20 off. (Friday Afternoon Only, 1-5pm: open to all, non-student siblings and
friends - we will give a guided tour of our museum, play games and have a snack $20 per child
by 7/24, $30 day-off.)
Shorin Ryu Kensei Renmei/Mr. Christensen Summer Karate Camp

Place: 1391 Fritz Rd. Verona Wisconsin , Mr. Christensen  Home/Dojo

Dates: August 1-3

Cost: $135 advance registration or $170 on the date of registration.  Fees include all
instruction, meals, and one free T-shirt.Free Lodging will be provided in the
Christensen Lodge in camping fashion.  You are encouraged to bring your own
pillow and sleeping bag, toiletries, flashlight.  Feel free to bring your own tent.

Friday, August 1

11 a.m. until noon Registration Sign in for specific clinics and get T-shirts

Noon until 5 p.m. Christensen KAICHO will be conducting small-group sessions
with kata review.  We will review all empty hand Shorin Ryu Matsubayashi kata.

Noon to 1 p.m. Kiai Clinic on fundamentals to advanced applications you will learn
new concepts about this often misunderstood technique and the important role plays
and the martial arts and physical exertion peak performance

Each student will receive personalized attention and a private lesson covering one
or two new techniques, enhancements, and advanced interpretations to help guide
you to the next level.

5 p.m. until 6 p.m. dinner will be provided at the dojo

6 p.m. to 7 p.m. we will gather firewood and prepare for a campfire.

7 p.m. until 8 p.m. "Matsu Nami" Waves of Emotion in the lesson of the soft
bendable pine tree.

8 p.m. until 10 p.m. Campfire with Bushido Storytelling and review of the
Nagamine and Sakugawa Code.  Each black belt will bring a Bushi Warrior to life
by sharing an 8-10 minute presentation:

Saturday, August 2

7 a.m.-8 a.m. breakfast

8 a.m. until 11 a.m. - AMOR KAICHO will teach Sai Fundamentals and the
Funioshi Sai Kata.  (There will be periodic breaks when needed)

11 a.m. until noon Lunch Will Be Served

Noon until 4 p.m. AMOR KAICHO will continue with the Funioshi Sai Kata.

4 p.m. until 5 p.m. AMOR KAICHO will conduct a Bogu kumite session for those
interested in learning Full Contact fighting with protective padding.

5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dinner

6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Zen in the Art Archery, nutrition and endurance training
University of Wisconsin professor Tim Gattenby will share his knowledge and love
of archery, bow hunting, along with tips for strength and endurance training.

7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Seisan, meditation and breathing clinic

8 p.m. until 10 p.m. campfire

Sunday, August 3

8 a.m. to 9 a.m. breakfast

9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. last minute review, goal setting and journals everyone should
bring their own journal or legal pad of paper to record key lessons learned, things to
work on, and goals for the coming year.
